GHB
Also known as: GBH, Liquid Ecstasy, gammahydroxybutrate.
Looks like: Clear odourless liquid sold in small bottles or capsules. Can also come in the form of a white powder.
How it is taken: Swallowed.
The effects: Anaesthetic. Can create feelings of euphoria and sensuality in small doses. May cause drowsiness and even blackouts in larger doses.
Downside: Can cause users to feel disoriented and sick. Muscles can go numb or start to spasm. Excessive use can cause a fit or seizure. Because GHB can cause unconsciousness it has been linked to drug assisted sexual assault.
Class: Class C
